PROFILE

Peter Paul Scalise, MD, earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. He attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine residency in New York City at NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Scalise completed a cardiology fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center and the Washington VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. His final year of fellowship, in interventional cardiology, was at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Scalise has practiced interventional cardiology for over 20 years. He has a special interest in systems of care for heart attack patients and was the founding cardiology co-chair of the Birmingham Regional STEMI System. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.

Dr. Scalise and his wife Kiki have two sons and enjoy travel and the symphony.
