Dr. Leon Cannizzaro is a cardiologist with Alabama Cardiovascular Group, an affiliate of Grandview Medical Group.

Dr. Cannizzaro is board certified in cardiovascular disease and specializes in Cardio-Oncology. His areas of interest include:

• Nuclear Medicine
• Cardio-Oncology
• Cardiac Catheterization

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Cannizzaro attended Louisiana State University, where he earned both his bachelor and medical degrees. He completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Dr. Cannizzaro completed a General Cardiology Fellowship at Texas Heart Institute/St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, TX.

Prior to joining the medical staff of Grandview Medical Center, Dr. Cannizzaro was on staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. There is served as Echocardiography Clinical Lab Director and Cardio-Oncology Program Founder and Director.
